Susan worked from 1980 until 1997 as an expert in advertising, concepting, broadcast production, marketing, public relations and writing. Her awards include both a silver and bronze Telly. In the educational field, she specialized in motivational speaking, journal workshops, the development of specialized classes for at-risk students and gifted children, and in-services for teachers.
She was selected by Yoko Ono of the John Lennon Estate to create greeting card lines for both John (Imagine) and Yoko (Dream Series). Susan was awarded the International Greeting Card award in the anniversary category.
In 1997 she published Living With a Deaf Dog, a book that shares experiences and offers advice and facts about communicating with and training a deaf dog. The book, a first of its kind, continues to be an excellent resource for those who share their lives with deaf dogs.
Her work on the Joy of Cooking is multifaceted and includes her work as an editor, writer and director of the 75th Anniversary edition. Susan is one of the founders of theJoykitchen.com, home of the Joy of Cooking.
